Then if we thought that Connecticut was small, then there was Rhode Island. Even when taking the interstate from one part of Rhode Island to another, you actually went through Massachusetts for a bit. We also didn’t realize just how close to the border with Massachusetts the capital (Providence) was. We used that interstate quite frequently to avoid a toll bridge that conveniently connected the two parts of the state we really wanted to see. However we did take it once as it was a really cool and long bridge, and we were definitely tired and didn’t want to spend the extra 45 minutes driving around the long way. We stopped to take pictures of the bridge too, once in a dedicated spot and also we found out unexpectedly it could be seen from one of the lighthouses that we went to check out further down the coast. Also to keep up with the Ivy League theme we stopped by Brown University on our way out to the state, to add another Ivy League school to the collection on the trip. While the architecture wasn’t as neat as Yale’s, there were still plenty of intricately designed buildings that we got to photograph. This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
