Another stop on our trip in the southwest was to the city of Page, AZ. Only a few miles from the outskirts of this town are two really cool places to see. The first is Horshoebend, which is just a quick pull off the highway to a dusty parking lot. Then comes a walk over a hill and down the other side to see a spectacular overlook of a sharp kink in the Colorado river. The river bends around and definitely fits the description of a horseshoe. This was a somewhat harrowing adventure as there are no rails on edge of the overlook so one has to keep scooting closer to get the best view. As folks who aren't the best with heights it was a bit challenging, but we made it through and grabbed some good shots in the end. We swung by Horshoebend twice to take advantage of a clearer sky for sunset which was a great choice. The other nearby place is Antelope Canyon which is absolutely stunning as well. We spent close to 5 hours in the canyons walking around and making our way through the narrow channels that were also filled with many people most of the time. With a lot of patience we were able grab some awesome photos inside the slot canyons which was definitely a big item to check off our bucket list.
