This past weekend, we got to be a part of a surprise proposal that took place on the University of Illinois quad in Champaign-Urbana.  Joe contacted us wanting help staging and photographing his proposal and it turned out to be a wonderful evening, and the surprise worked!!  We had met up with Joe, who snuck away a couple hours before the proposal, and received the handoff of the candle and flowers, the execution was perfect.  The quad ended up being a pretty popular place that night as we watched three other couples in wedding attire getting their pictures taken on different corners of the quad, each wandering somewhat close, but ultimately heading away.  Luckily they and the rain stayed at bay and all worked out perfectly for when Joe led Kelcey to the center of the Quad in front of Foellinger to propose with a bouquet of flowers and a sentimental candle lit beside them.  Congratulations to Joe and Kelcey on your engagement, thanks for letting us be a part of your special evening!!This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
