Earlier this week I (JD) got the chance to head to Denver for a work conference.  Arriving a day early I got a chance to photograph the city for a good weekend afternoon, in the evenings when the conference was over, and one morning that I was able to get up early enough to go for a walk.  Denver was a really cool city and it was the first time I'd been there since a Boy Scout trip from my middle school days.  Needless to say, nothing was the same as I remembered it, not that I remembered much.  I'm not sure if it has something to do with the weather coming over the Rockies and hitting the city, but I definitely think that Denver could rival Chicago for the "Windy City" title.  All 4 days I was there the wind was whipping through the streets, on Sunday there was even something like a dust storm that I experienced on the north side of town.Prior to the trip I had done some extensive scouting of the city on Google Earth to get a feel for some places that might be cool to go take pictures.  Fortunately I was able to hit up all the places I wanted to in my limited time in the city.  There was so much to photograph though, I could have easily spent another week there just taking pictures.  I also think it would be neat to go there during multiple seasons to see what things were like in the fall when the trees turn and in the winter when snow falls.  Aside from the wind (and I even enjoyed that a bit), the weather was gorgeous with mostly sun and nice warm temperatures, I was never limited by the weather when it came time to go out and take some photos.  There are a good number that I liked from the trip so I hope you enjoy the longish list of pictures below.  Thanks for reading!! This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
