Corvettes Come to Champaign

This past weekend the Bloomington Corvette Show came to Champaign for the first time.  While my schedule didn't really allow me to attend too much of the show, I got to stop by for a bit and capture some photos of the hundreds of corvettes that rolled into town for a summer showing. On Friday scattered storms moved through the area sprinkling rain on the city.  While this forced me to duck and cover underneath some awnings, it put a great coat of water on the freshly waxed cars that beaded up nicely for some photos.  Also seeing the cars in their element on the streets added a nice effect, while still allowing me to photograph them in a comfortable setting.Saturday morning I swung by the show early in the morning as owners where parking their cars on the lawn by Memorial Stadium.  It was cool to see corvettes that spanned all the different versions of the model since its inception in the early 1950's.  The cars not only spanned time, but also location.  There were licenses plates from all corners of the country that had made their way to Champaign to show their flare. While I wish I could have spent more time at the actual show, I definitely got a great glimpse of these vehicles and gave me ideas for what I will do next time I see these guys roll into town, which I hope they do again next summer.DSC_5535DSC_5563DSC_5570DSC_5599DSC_5646DSC_5654DSC_5674DSC_5676DSC_5702DSC_5708DSC_5744DSC_5767DSC_5771DSC_5782DSC_5793DSC_5793BWDSC_5808DSC_5814DSC_5818BWDSC_5829DSC_5835DSC_5861DSC_5870Creative Commons LicenseThis work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
