A Great First Portrait

Hey, sorry for delay in blogging.  Photos have been sparse and the time to edit those that did occur was non-existant.  I am now done with finals, so I have spent some time this morning editing some photos!  That's my story, now to the good stuff:A few weeks back I the chance to take my first real portrait for the Daily Illini.  It was for an article on a U of I Alum named Casey White who had recently graduated from the university and was set to work for a large accounting firm.  Though the summer before he was to start with the company he was diagnosed with brain cancer, which he has been battling/recovering from since.  His business frat that he was apart of in college was hosting a fundraiser for cancer research and he had come into town for the occasion, thus we got some time to sit down and talk to him.  Though I did not interview him, I did get a chance to talk to him during the short portrait session.  His bright attitude was definitely evident by the way he carried himself and how he treated those around him.The goal of a portrait session is to come away with one photo that accurately describes the person that is in focus.  In this case, I think the photo is worth a thousand words. Photo Copyright: JD Maloney and The Daily IlliniFull Story by someone who knows how to write:http://www.dailyillini.com/features/greeks-campus/2010/12/08/phi-gamma-nu-helping-out-a-brother-in-need
