White, Sandy Beaches

For most of this past week, my family and I have spent time at the beach in St. Petersburg, FL.  It has been quite an awesome time, and has allowed me to relax and enjoy a different part of God's creation that I don't get to see that often.  Doing devotion while overlooking the waves and smelling the ocean air has been very relaxing.  The weather though has been very hot and humid for the majority of the trip ( what you would expect from Florida).  This has made running/exercising less enticing and the ice cream shop down the street a lot more tempting.  All in all though, I think I have walked more miles this week than just about any given week on campus this past school year.During this trip, the family watched a sermon series from Andy Stanley about how to listen and learn.  It was a very inspiring and educational three part series that was a good supplement to my daily reading.  Long walks on the beach also offered a different setting in which to come to God in prayer. Most of our fun came from St. Petersburg beach itself though we did venture out to Fort DeSoto Beach ( the #1 beach in the US in 2005).  Board games and ping pong were also good sources of entertainment throughout the week. Here are some photos from the early part of the week, more will posted later, so stay tuned!!
