Over the weekend we got to take a walk on campus during sunset and as students and families were hustling around campus taking graduation photos everywhere in their caps and gowns (you can't tell but there is a huge line on the other side of Alma Mater...she's pretty popular).  It's a fun time of year as graduating students head out toward future jobs or other schools or just other degrees.  This outing we took our new 16-35mm lens and tested it out to see how it performed (all photos in this post are from the new lens).  We're excited for this lens as it is both very wide and accepts standard filters.  We also just got the Lee BigStopper to use with it so we can take long, multi-minute exposures of things such as waterfalls, cloudy skies, or traffic.  Having the ability to have those really long exposures will allow for very dynamic images that can show tons of movement over a long period of time.  While we didn't take any of those photos on this outing (all these exposures are 6 seconds or shorter), expect to see some soon as we get ready to go on some more photo adventures in the near future. This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
