Elevate Martinsville 2011

The trip to Martinsville was by far no well, in-depth planned adventure.  I heard about the concert on facebook a few days before and decided to go with a couple of my friends from Axiom.  Upon arrival, we were greeted with rain, which thankfully subsided part of the way through the first set and gave way to the sun later on in the evening.  The venue was at the county fair grounds which let to: A stage with very colorful lighting (turning many faces purple and orange), but also a good assortment of fair food.  Corndogs and funnel cake constituted my diet that night, but nothing could be better as we got to enjoy the performances of five different bands.  Gungor alone was worth the two hour trip.  I still contend that they are better live than they are on recording, with their unbelievable skills and the help of an amazing poet.  Photos weren't my first priority, I wanted to enjoy the music as much as I could, so I didn't spend as much time photographing the bands.  These though are some of the shots that I did get of Sanctus Real, Gungor, JJ Heller, The Broken, and Rebekah Dennis.[slideshow]Photos Copyright: JD Maloney
