Steven + Savannah | Springfield, IL Wedding Photography

Near the end of July we had the privilege of photographing Steven and Savannah's wedding in Springfield, Illinois.  The ceremony was held at First United Methodist Church on the west side of town, with a reception following at the fire fighters club on Lake Springfield.  You may recognize these two as we photographed their engagement photos back in the fall last year when they came over to Champaign.  We always love being apart of the journey and getting to photograph both the engagement session and the wedding itself.  Despite being a hot July day, we at least didn't have to dodge any rain clouds and got the awesome opportunity to take photos between the ceremony and the reception at the Illinois State Capitol building that is located in downtown Springfield.  Despite accidentally leaving a lens on the second floor stair case (that was later retrieved in an evidence bag), this worked out to be a great location.  Not only was the interior and exterior of the building beautiful offering many nice backdrops for photos, but the marble and stone used throughout the building helped keep things cool so that we didn't have to handle too much of the high heat that was taking place outside.Thanks to Steven and Savannah for letting us photograph their special day, we had a great time!  Some of our favorites from the day are below for all to enjoy! This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
