St. Louis & Downtown
Late summer baseball is one of my favorite summer activities. This past weekend was the 1985 Anniversary Weekend at Busch Stadium. Whitey Herzog was honored with a special pre-game ceremony and the retiring of his number (24), as he received his bid to Cooperstown this summer. The 1985 team was also there for the weekend to see fans and view the current Cardinal team, who is in hot contention for first place in the NL Central. The weather was amazing, a rather mild 85 degrees and a slight wind from left-center. The breeze blowing in did not hinder the offense of the cardinals during the game, as they won 11-1. Also, the mild weather and a free evening had me downtown to take some photos of Springfield under the moonlight. Both of these opportunities were great ones to try out my new 50mm and 14-24mm lenses. Low light shooting is one of my favorite things to do, and downtown was a good opportunity to practice working in these conditions. Here are some of the photos from both of these outings. Stay posted as the Illinois State Fair is just over the horizon, I’m excited for another opportunity to get creative with these new lenses.[slideshow]
