My 2010 Top Twenty-Five
Change--The best one word description that I can come up with for my photographic style over the course of this year. 2010 was my first year of actually having a real photography job as a photojournalist for
The Daily Illini
. This job has given me an extremely wide variety of experiences, and opened my eyes to the world of photojournalism. Though I worked for a paper in high school, all I did was shoot and submit my photos remotely through email, never really in face to face contact with any of my co-workers. The exact opposite of that has happened this year. Being around better photographers than me has given me more than inspiration, it has given me an amazing learning experience that has greatly impacted both my photographic style, and also the way I go about taking pictures entirely. This change was by no means instant, but looking back to photos pre-2010, I realize how stark the contrast is. Sure I had some great shots that I'm still proud of today, but this year brought things to a whole new level.
Some of these photos you may recognize from a prior blog post, but there are many that are from pre-blog days (Jan-early May) that will be new to you. I have altered the format for presentation of this post, replacing the slideshow with larger photos that you can scroll through. Happy New Year!! --see you in 2011.
