Morton Arboretum

While I was up in the suburbs this past weekend on vacation I stopped by the Morton Arboretum.  Contrary to its name, it is not in Morton, IL...and I'm still not sure why it is called that.  I didn't really look too closely at the map of the place until I got there, and that is when I realized just how huge the Arboretum was.  While the one near campus here is gorgeous and very well kept, this one was just like that...but bigger.  Though Hilarie and I spent over three hours in the park, we by no means saw all of it.  We were able to however drive both the East Loop and West Loop (the two sides of the park) and see all the main things at least from the car, and sometimes on foot exploration.  While we were walking I snapped a few photos of some of the things I saw that caught my attention.  I would love to go see this place during other season as changing leaves would unbelievable as well as a fresh bloom of flowers in the Spring.  Thanks to a fairly mild summer so far things were still pretty green and there were still a lot of species in bloom, and bees looking to get in on the action as you'll see in a couple pictures.  Hope you enjoy!!DSC_7305DSC_7329DSC_7352DSC_7369DSC_7389DSC_7395DSC_7404DSC_7423DSC_7437DSC_7479DSC_7474Creative Commons LicenseThis work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
