Honeymoon in Rome!- Part 2
So we're a day late (almost two...) but we've finished off editing the rest of our photos from Rome! This half of the trip we spent more of our time on the western side of Rome near the Vatican and the Tiber River which runs through that part of the city. One of the neat things is, and you can probably tell in the pictures, is that the river is lined with trees (up near the road) seemingly all of the same variety. Since they are spaced evenly and have cutouts in the sidewalk it's obvious they were put there intentionally, but the fact that for the entire distance Hil and I walked up and down it (which was a lot), they stuck with the exact same tree.We wish we could have had some more time in this part of town, though we did make two trips to this area. It just happened to be the part of town that was farther from our hotel (about an 1 hour 15 min walk one way). All the bridges that cross the Tiber are unique and beautiful especially with the colors the trees were starting to turn while we were there. Also on this half we went into the Colosseum which was really neat. Since the outside (as you will see) is under heavy renovation, it was cool to see the inside which was almost completely free of scaffolding. This structure was fascinating to me and we hope we get a chance to go back some day when the outside is finished and we get to finish getting some great shots of it. For now though, check out the photos below! This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
